Changed my oil for the first time today. Just turned over the 3k mark....treated my baby to some Mobil 1 synthetic. I replaced the stock filter with a Fram one but I noticed that the Fram was a bit smaller in diameter. Fram's website does not list a filter for the '00 TL but has one for the '99. Will the '99 filter work with the '00? What are you guys using..OEM or aftermarket. Hate to use a filter that ain't spec'd for my particular year.

 

well.... we have the same engine as the 99's (or do you mean 98?) so im guessing the filters would fit, besides, the filter dont really matter(as in brand, im not saing size dont matter,), the trick to motor oil is change them often, dont let it sit too long.

The Fram filter is quite a bit smaller in diameter. I was worried that the rubber sealing ring would be fairly close to the edge of the mounting flange. So far no problem though..
