I am trying some Amsoil 5w30 for this change along with a Amsoil filter. Ran Amsoil last change to, seems to be good stuff. My friend has tried castrol, motul and mobil 1 in his sentra and Amsoil is the only stuff that has quieted down his motor and quieted down his cold starts.

I have read a lot about synthetic oils and the consensus seems to be that the best ones are Motul, Amsoil, Royal Purple, and Redline. Having said that, I use Mobil 1 full syn because it is more readily available (Walmart for instance) and it is cheaper.
Last time I checked my local dealer used Castrol Syn Blend.

I use Mobil1 (5W-20 or 5W-30 ... if Costco has either one) and a Mobil1 filter since 100,000km. Otherwise, it was OEM filter / oil since I went to the dealership while under warranty.

do you have any idea how much power you are pulling from the battery just running the stereo!!!... with the engine running?
The battery runs all the electrics in the car. The alternator recharges what is being used from the battery- puts new electricity in it
My kragen 84 month batt in the truck- only had 16 months on its replacement- first one got 35 months, and it wont take a charge
I replaced it with a zone cheapie- its just the truck not the TL
TEST are free- and usually tell you what the problem is or isnt
Your guess, based on.. well.. guessing- doesnt mean much to the affected part~

'00 TL with 174K.
I've been using Mobil 1 with a Carquest (Wix - very good US made) filter at 10K intervals since the car had 80K on it. Engine is as strong or stronger than when I purchased car at 70K. Too bad I'm on the third tranny
