i got my tl-s 11 days ago n i've already put on 2900 miles...n i was jus wonderin whether im supposed to follow the maintanence schedule of 3750 for first oil change or 7000 miles?

 

Wow... that's alot of miles in a few weeks...
Did you already do the 1st oil change for the "break in period" for the engine? I read on other forums that the break in period to change the oil the 1st time out is between 600 miles to 1,000 miles. Since you already put so many miles, might as well do and follow the manual. It's only $30 to $40 bucks. Better safe than sorry later...

 

3750 is fine, Acura puts a special additive on the oil from the factory to help with break in, no need to change after 500 or 1000 miles.....that's old school

 

I thought the first change was at 4500 then 3500-3750 after that? No?

 

My dealer put a next service is 3750 mile sticker on my windshield when I purchased my TL and gave me a free oil & filter change certificate at 3,750 mile.

With your type of mileage you could go the 7,000 for the first change. This is what I had a problem with I had the lower mileage so I got the oil changed sooner. I could not think of having the same oil in the car for almost a year. I must have not did anything wrong because the car is over 2yrs old & runs fine.
I get the oil change at 3500 to 4000 miles or 4 months.
I have a bit over 21,000 on a 2yr old car when I get back from PAA meet next week I will get the 22,500 service. I also will get the tranny fluid changed then.
