Talking oh man SS saved my life last night

I live in butler, pennsylvania and we have been having horrible storms lately and last night i was leaving eat n park around 1am and it was raining really really hard. The tread bars on my tires are showing and they really need rotated badly, the rears ones are a little better but not much. by the way i still have the stock wheels and tires on my 00 TL-P. water was laying all over the roads and i had to take a friend of mine home, i thought about stopping home and picking up my dads land rover instead but i decided just to risk it. i used sport shift the whole way, using it to slow me down in corners and upshifting so when i need to accelerate so there wouldn't be massive amounts of torque at the wheels. i was rather impressed i made it home ok, aquaplaning only a couple of times haha its fun. by the way does anyone know what the going rate for the stock tires are? because i'm really in need of replacing those puppies, just wondering what its going to set me back. i only have 26,000 miles on it and the warranty but i'm sure warranty doesn't cover the tires.

stock tires?

Man...if money is a concern then stock tires aren't for you.

go to tirerack.com and do a search. the cheapest all season tire for the 00tl is the

Yokohama Avid H4

for $58. Mighty cheap if you ask me.

You have either 26K on those tires or 26K left on your warranty and you've already worn your stock tires down???????????
Do you spin your tires every time you start off???

That soes sound a little strange.

I just traded by 99-Navi with 47k miles and original tires. I think I drove the car with spirit too, but the tires lasted.

I have 39000 miles on my 2000 TL and only had to replace the tires because of road damage. Last time I bought the stock tires from Costco they were 125 a piece, but Costco gives you the road hazard warranty.

LOL stock tires! If I can remember Michelin Mxv4 Green (piece o' sh*t) but quite pricey tires.

Wait a minute... You obviously must have springs or coilovers because the stock chumpers are supposed to have like a minimum of 60k miles of tread.

I got comptech springs on my car and my stock tires lasted me 28,000 miles because I was foolish and didnt get an alignment after the drop( tires were bald! wire was stickin out! ) I have to give Michelin credit on building a strong tire Phew, imagine if my tires blew out on the freeway

Went to Costco and they were quoting $175 a wheel !@#$%!!!

Instead of spending 800 dollars on stock tires I went and bought 18's. BTW if your looking for a good cheap performance tire look into the Kumho Ecsta got mines for $125 a tire ( lol cheaper than stock michelin tires ) Nitto's are good as well.

Talking Actually Heh-heh

Actually when i first got it i was rough on the tires, being "that guy" making sure people noticed me pulling out of a parking lot. but i don't think i was ever that hard on them honestly, i might need to be in for an alignment because i've been in some close calls, once a lady pulled out in front of me and to keep from hitting her i had to jump up on a side walk. that might have something to do with it. i don't know. is the Yokohama Avid H4 a decent quality tire? the car is leased and i have about 3/4 of a year left on it, and i hate to spend a fortune on tires when i wont get full use out of them you know? but i dont think the tires on it will last that long lol.

do NOT get stock tires again, I have some dunlop w10's and they were ~$80 each ($100 less then the stock tires). I would highly reccomend these, cheap, and so much more traction then the stock tires its not even funny.

Exclamation Alright then

Ok, so far we have the Yokohama Avid H4's, and the Dunop W10's, which one is the better quality? Which tire has the stronger sidewall? i thought the stock tires were really weak.
