oh the luck

so the day after getting a large dent and scratches fixed for $500, i park my car at a club and when i get out, i find out someone hit my car in the same exact spot.

it seems someone with one of those plastic bumpers hit it. there are black marks on the paint. it seems when i run my fingers over it, its ON the paint, and hasnt scratched it (although it probably has scratched it). ive tried getting it off with my nails, and it does come off somewhat.

any tips on how i can get that crap off for now (i have no more money for the body shop)? i tried wd40... didnt work.

thanks.

try 3M swirl remover (its in a black bottle and says it will take off 1500 grit or finer scratches.) It has mild abrasive which is what you need, but its no so rough that it will leave its own marks. Then wax it afterwards.

When some idiot hit my car on the right side of my rear bumper, it left black marks all over it.....I used some octane and diluted with some water and it got all of the stuff off. If its on the painted part I wouldn't recommend this since gas will probably take off your clear coat on your paint. but something to think about if all the aboved recommended stuff doesn't work. Just some home remendy.....careful tho.....be sure to wash your car after using octane on it.

any type of 1000 grit or HIGHER polishing compound will work, the 3m is good and meguiars is good also. if you use any fuel use diesel fuel (works great on bugs and tar too). go to a local auto paint store and ask them what they have to buff out those type of marks.. i use Chroma 1000, 1500, and 2000, cleaner/glaze

i just tried some lighter fluid now which did not work.

does anyone know how much grit is in meguiar's scratch x? that didnt work so dont want to buy the 3m compound if itll have the same effect as the scratch x

do you think clay bar would work?

ACETONE.
get it at home depot. this stuff takes off everything. but remember only use a very small amount. i took off a mark 5 inches wide with a few drops. don't rub too hard either. then wash and wax.
