Offset for a Type S?

I called the Acura dealership and they couldn't even tell me! What is the offset? Does anyone really know, and what is the max offset so as to not have the wheel sticking out of the well. A national known tire company tells me the specs for our car are between 38 and 45. Any help out there gang?

Check my sig.

I had to get my rear fender trimed. If you don't want to do that, Get at least +45.

I think +45 to +50 is the range that most people find acceptable with 7.5 in. wide rims.

The tire won't stick out with a 45 offset?

if you understand the definition of offset, you will see it is clearly related to rim width. 45 works only if the rim width is not too wide. so if don't worry so much about the offset (per se), you still need to keep in mind the rim width.

the stock tl-s wheels are 17x6.5 with a 55 offset. this does not mean you should only get a 55 offset. this is overkill for that width probably because it's worth for honda. you can stick in 8.5s with that offset...

I have 7.5 inch wheels with +45 offset and NO they do not stick out. It is pretty close but it doesn't rub.
