OEM Filters have shrunk

For anyone who goes to the dealer to have an oil change or purchase an OEM filter, Honda has shrunk the filter for the Acura TL and many other Honda's and Acura's.

The parts person at an Acura dealer has told me Honda did this to "standardize" on their oil filters. Honda doesn't even have a oil filter socket to install/remove the new smaller filter. Techs have bought theirs from their tool suppliers (snap-on etc.)

Since I purchased my Acura I havn't had to do an oil change yet, but when I do I plan on purchasing a normal size aftermarket filter.
