Does this affect all of the TL HUs? I haven't had a problem once with reading burned CDs. I've burned both from my PC and my Mac, upto 48x using cheap ass media too. I keep seeing people writing about this, but apparently my 02' doesn't have this issue.

i think it doesn't affect the 02 and up models with a 6 disc changer.... but i burned with some TDK's and they all worked, but i don't seem to find any more TDKs that are exactly as the ones i used to use...

No problem with my 02'. I usually burn mines at 4x. I heard somewhere that its alot better than burning at a faster rate.

im sorry to burst your bubble but this is not the solution for all head units... It worked for a time for me and then it stopped working... this topic has been discussed 5087691761 times and it seems like there is no real solution...

thats funny, I never had a problem playing cdr on my 99 hu. I thought i would at first but no. I use tdk data cds and burn at 32x. I don't know if it was me being lucky with my hu or or the way i burn my cds. it won't hurt to try. I think it is different with every hu not the year of the car and so on

I'm starting to have problems right now with CD-R's. The funny thing is I never had problems and all of a sudden sometimes I get an "Err" message on the screen. And whats even more interesting is when I shut the HU off for a while and re-try it works fine. If that doesn't solve I change the CD's slot# and that solves it.

Very Weird how the problem is intermittent. BTW I have an 03 TLS.
