sandpaper the rust off the rotor before painting
if any paint overspray:
sandpaper it off and shoot some brake cleaner to wash off the rest- no sweat

I cleaned my RacingBrake 1 piece slotted rotors with 120 grit wet/dry wrapped around a small block of wood, and wd40 as lube
Knocked the dark color from Hawk pads right off and left clean rotor surface for the new EP300 pads from racingbrake to make their transfer layer to

Have fun! paint the calipers and their brackets black for brembo fakes

for the rears. I know these are good as OE so was thinking about using them on the rears. They run for $32.00 at Advance Auto

any info on Beck Arnley Axxis metal masters, pads for the front. I really to thrilled with the Akebono. Tirerack said I can return them but need to do it soon so I have to buy pads locally. I found these http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...pe=219&PTSet=A

Like 01tl4tl said, Racingbrake+EP300 or Hawk pads. They're not cheap but they have gobs of stopping power. They also happen to be 100% homegrown all American parts from the ground up. I was fed up with the wobblies and soft braking on my 02 TL.

Took 01tl4tl advice and splurged on Racingbrake+Hawk (EP300s weren't released yet), and also convinced him to drive 50+ miles to do the job. Absolute perfection on the install

Tried the brakes out after the install and it scared the crap out of me. If I hit them any harder, I think my rear would have lifted off the road.

Its not really exciting until you empty the seats of everything under braking- NOW you're finding out how well they stop when you realllllly need them.
My chiro couldn't figure out how I kept messing up my shoulder- ahem- seat belt~~~

ET300s are comparable to Hawk HPSs. ET500s are comparable to Hawk HP+s. At least, that's how I understood it...

Thats correct Lcap

ET300 = 30% track style driving 70% normal human style driving, replaces HPS
500 is 50% escaped mental patient and 50% azine member driving style, replaces HP+/Blue

You order the RacingBrake ET series pads from azine vendor MrHeelToe

PM me for further tech info!
