I washed my TL earlier this morning at one of those coin op car washes around the corner from me and drove home to dry, detail and do some routine maintenance. When I moved it back to my normal parking spot, I found this on the ground where my driver side wheel was located. Looking in the wheel well, I can see a spot it likely came from. In the 2nd pic, you can see the spring and what looks like some kind of sheathing around the spring at the top where this possibly came off.
I don't see this as a separate part in the any of the Acura parts websites. A check at Rockauto shows a few of the "Original Ride Quality" units appearing to have a similar sheath just around the top coil (maybe 1 1/2 coils).
Is this correct or is this some other part? If this is correct, I don't see it as something I need to replace. The one on the passenger side is either intact, or completely gone. It's hard to tell as I didn't flush out the wheel wells very well. If no one knows for sure, I'll pull the wheels off, clean it all out and get a better look and pictures but that won't be for a few days.

They break off as they get old. When I replaced the coil on the drivers side (wears out first) I purchased a coil assembly (FCS brand) from RockAuto and it came with the noise suppressor on it. It was a lot cheaper to buy the FCS assembly and take it apart to just use the coil than a buying a new coil from Acura. New Coil from Strut assembly on the left. Noise Dampeners can be seen at the bottom of the picture.
I did notice the difference when I looked at the RA site. I see the FCS uses some king of strip wrapped around the coil. So far no clucking of any kind so I'm going to let it ride (pun intended) until something happens. Shocks are still good, no sag.
