Odd CEL Code. Anyone ever seen this?
Hi Guys,
For the last year or so my 99 TL has been popping the CEL about every 5k miles or so. Each time I would simply reset the light. I assumed it was the O2 sensor but never actually checked it.
I finally checked it out yesterday and it pulled something I have never seen before. It was:
P0181 - Fuel Temperature Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance
It has popped this code at least the last 3 times the light has come on.
I can find nothing in the books or by doing a google search about any type of fuel temp sensor on our cars.
The cars gas mileage does appear to have gone down recently by 2-3mpg. However, the performance of the car does not seem to be impaired at all.
Ayone ever seen this before or have any ideas?
Thanks.

i remember replacing some fuel senders at infiniti due to a similar code. the temp sensor was part of the sending unit and occasionally went bad. in the year i have been at acura i have never seen that code. it maybe something simila to the infiniti code or it could be something like a computer error.

Rather, it would be better to go talk to someone at the local auto parts store. Well, that's if your car is out of warranty. If it's still under warranty, then just take it in. That's gotta be covered.
Most auto parts stores have employees who know about cars, along with the dipshits whose knowledge about cars consist of neon lights and spinners. They could provide some insight on the matter.
Good luck.
