OBX Headers Cracking?
#6
Thanks for all the feedback guys.. keep it coming. I know OBX has been known to crack, but I want to know exactly how bad this problem is. As you can see in my sig, I have OBX headers I haven't installed yet... if this poll shows something like 50% of the users here have had the headers crack in less than a year, I think I'll probably just resell them and save up for CTs.

I think i was the second person with a crack in my OBX headers about 1.5 years ago. It was a CHIP not a CRACK. It was on the rear center tube. It has an annoying "clicking" sound from the exhuast leak. Called OBX up for warranty, they gave me BS and didn't replace.
But afterwards I realized that it may not be back workmanship.
It may be due to our bad trannies....and the hard jolts on your engine/headers when the tranny shifts from 5th to 2nd gear. The force was hard enough to break our front motor mounts. So my theory is that it may be cause by the tranny and not bad work
Can anyone confirm/agree?
But afterwards I realized that it may not be back workmanship.

If this theory were true, wouldn't CT headers be affected too? I haven't heard anyone here have problems w/ CT headers.. but then again, I don't think a ton of people here have CT headers?
