OBX Headers =

JUNK

Had them for 1-1/2 year and this is what happened. I tried to patch it up till I get home from a trip and that didn't help.

there goes the possibility of me gettin OBX. Damn...they really do have a lot of quality issues. I'm definitely not gonna buy OBX headers, even if they're given to me. The inconvenience and resonance created by a cracked gasket just isn't worth my time.

Just my .02 cents.

This is why Comptech headers are $1000+

I remember when the hype was about the OBX headers a couple of months ago. It was too good to be true.

BdasAcuraTL said it, you get what you paid for.

Its not going to be all of the OBX headers that have problems. Its just the quality control on the OBX headers are not as good as the Comptech ones. The quality of the OBX headers themselves I guess is also in question .. I'd assume they're hand welded unlike the Comptechs which are TIG welded (by a machine). With hand welding, there's going to be a difference in quality depending on who's doing it and normal mistakes.

There are some people who have had their OBX headers on for a long time with plenty of mileage on the car and they've had 0 problems. I'm sure there are a few people out there with Comptech headers who have had problems too ... But you'll find more people with OBX and problems than you would with Comptech and problems.

The difference of course is that if you get a bad set of OBX headers, you could still buy a second set and assuming you're installing it yourself ... still come out ahead versus the price of Comptechs.
