OBD-II Scanner Recommendations

Hi All :

Since it costs over $100 to decipher a CEL code, I thought I would invest in a scanner. Anyone got any recommendations ?

Thanks for all replies in advance !

There are auto shops that read codes for free.

I'd look into finding those shops before dropping the cash on this.

Besides, how many times are you actually expecting to use the scanner for it to be worth it.

When I had my Evo i needed one. I dropped $35 on one from E-bay and it worked great. Scanned and cleared with ease. Very handy for those random CELs.

This is the exact one I have:

Actron makes good ones. How much you pay depends on what you want it to do. The more expensive ones read live data which is nice for some, not needed for most. Amazon has great deals on them often.
