I just noticed this today, When im in (P) and rev the enigne to about 3-4k RPM and then let off gas, theres a Rattling/Screeching noise that follows it for about a second. The noise only occurs after reving to 4k RPM and over, and then letting off the gas. The noise sounds like its coming from the engine bay, not shure what could it be?

 

I had something like that.. Mine was when I’m in gear at about 3k it made like a rubbing against metal sound. I found out it was my engine mount 3 of my mounts were broken so once I got it fixed the sound was gone so check your mounts.

 

Mine only happens in Park or Neutral, Ill rev up to 4k RPm then let off and rite when i lett off this screeching/ rattling noise comes in. I went to go check it out at Acura they said it might be the Catalyic convertor???

 

im having the same problems? has your dealer figured it out yet and what is the fix? thanx ahead if time

 

I'm gonna go with a loose heat shield. Jack the car up and have someone rev the engine again. Check out the heat shield, especially the one covering the catalytic converter. It's known to come loose.

 

id say heat sheild also? id crawl inder the car and make sure they are all tight and not touching any thing

 

It could be the Heat Shield bolts.. My 94 Prelude had the same problem and it was the heat shield bolt... it was loose.

 

Alight my car is in the dealership right now getting in a nw tranny, dealership calls me up and says i need 1 new motor mount and some sensor on my sterring wheel needs a replacment he outes me $400 CAN for the parts :S :S... I ddint get to talk to him he left a message, ill have to go straighten that out.
