Noise when changing option on Climate control

hey guys,

I find that sometimes when I first turn on the car and it has been sitting for a few hours, and the engine is still really cold, that I hear a noise in the dashboard when I switch the front window defogger from a/c on, and press the button to put it back to my initial option, which was having the a/c off, the temp to 32C, and the vents to be only throwing air out to the person.

I find that when the car is extremely cold and switching between different options, I am able to hear the conversion being done. The noise comes from under the dash, between the actual air vents and the front windshield.

has anyone else ever heard this noise???

i dunno if this would be considered the same thing, but i always hear a noise when my auto climate control is on, like the A/C adjusting the temp to what i set it on??
does that make sense?

it seems to happen more often when i press the accelerator hard, but i hear it on a regular basis, kind of cyclical, when the auto climate is on??

anyone have any ideas?

no....I seem to hear like a clunking noise when it's really really really cold out, and the car is first started. When I warm the car up, and get going, after about 15 min, i can't reproduce the problem until the car gets cold again..
