Unhappy Noise from the sunroof area

Hello everyone,
I'm getting this annoying virbrating sound from the sunroof area while driving on bumpy roads or when the stereo is blasting.

Can someone please tell me where the hell is this noise coming from and how do I fix it?

Thank you!

I find that if i open it a crack then the sound goes away. I had this problem with my previous car also. It was a Galant. If you just tap the open button for a second the roof opens up a little but not enough for air to come in. I think that when the roof is completly shut it makes tends to make noise.

Dealer will fix it--warranty work if you're still under warranty.

Yeah the dealership will fix it if you complain. They're just going to clean it and give it some lube.

Better off just doing it yourself. Get some plumbers grease and a rag.

As other have said - take it to the dealer. There is a TSB that addresses the moonroof noise.

Thumbs up

Thank you for your help. I will try to take care of the noise myself, if not, I will go to the dealer...

bye

A bit of silicone grease applied to the weather stripping will solve the problem. Be sure to use silicone grease because it will not dry out the rubber like petroleum grease will.
