Noise after sway install

Noise after sway install
I love the handling after installing Comptech sways but it now sounds as if the rear windows are down while driving. The tire noise and road noise now are transmitted to the body through the urthane bushings. I am thinking of trying to find replacement rubber bushings to cure the problem. Any ideas?

You might try putting the rear OEM bushings on the Comptech bar. They are rubber and maybe you'd hear a difference. Remeber, only the rear bushings come with the sways. Not sure why they did that.

I don't own the sways (yet) but the front sway bar is the same OD as stock so I assume you can reuse the stock bushings. For the Type S, the rear Comptech bar is 22mm vs. 19mm stock (22 vs. 18 on TL-P). The old bushings will not fit on the new bars.
Did you tighten the bushing while the wheels were dangling or did you tighten them with weight on the wheels? If you tightened them with the cars weight off the tires you should loosen them and retighten with the suspension under load. Otherwise the bushings get twisted and will wear prematurely and possibly make noise.

I will try to loosen, then retorque the bushings. I thought about reusing the old rubber bushings, but I would have to bore them out and I don't know how that would work. I am thinking about trying to purchase new bushings designed for the size of the replacement bar.

Please don't be offended or think that I am assuming you don't know what you are doing but while you are under there, make sure there is no metal-to-metal contact. Do this with the cars weight on the tires also. Urethane bushings are not that much harder that they should make so much more noise.
Best of luck and keep us apprised.

I am not offended at all. the noise is not from the bushings and I did inspect them carefully or proper installation. The bushings are transmitting road noise through to the body. It sounds as if the rear doors are open. It is that bad! I followed the directions and made sure they were centered also.
