Hello,
I'm considering buying a 2002 TL-S. It does need some work that I'm aware of like the timing belt, water pump, and valve cover gaskets.
The battery was also garbage so I threw a good battery in the vehicle and got nothing. The only sign of life were the hazards. The horn gave a beep when attaching the battery other than that, nothing. I'm not familiar with this vehicle so any advice would be appreciated. Could it be the alarm system disabling the vehicle? If so, how do I remedy that issue?

Are you sure the battery is well charged? Do the headlights light up brightly when you turn them on?

 

The battery is good. I pulled it right out of my truck to be sure. There is zero sign of life except the hazards, so it's getting juice.

 

Use the keyfob to disarm it. It could also be the ignition switch being problematic or the main relay
