Question no rear wheel drive or v-8

Read from temple of vtec that hondas top guy doesnt want to fit the trend of v-8s and rwd he says they can make v-6s as powerful as v-8s and competitive handling fwd platforms. Whats everybodys opinion?

lol....

I just think that it's funny that people actually believed that they would make the TL a RWD V8 before the NSX (V8) or the RL......

I have a bridge for sale too... only slightly used over the last several decades!!

V8 for RL/TL

They have to do it for RL. It's not selling well with a V6. They do not need and probably will not put V8 engine into TL. TL is plenty fast with a V6. Performance wise it is virtually equal to RWD V8s. BTW if they will put a V8 in TL it will be moved to another class and will cost 10-15K more.

I don't want/need a v8 or RWD

All I want is AWD and a 3.5 DOHC ivtec, not to mention keeping the price under $38000! If I got this I wouldn't even want a manual! I still think this would fall in line with Acura's trend of being performance oriented yet conservative.

You will never see it at that price, especially brand new. I really think they will come out with a V8 for the RL. Not sure if it will be AWD, RWD, or FWD though.

Also a CVT like the Insight/IMA Civic. Then we can really ditch the manual.

Acura better drop a V8 into the RL, or they might as well just not make another generation of RL's. The car is never going to compete with anything if it keeps the V6 FWD platform..It is abundantly clear why the RL isn't even in the same category as Q45, LS430, or any other full luxury 4dr sedan. The RL desperately needs at least a V8, and maybe acura can get away with keeping it FWD, but RWD would be best. The TL doesn't and won't have a V8..It's plenty fast with a well tuned V6, and hopefully the 2004 TL will have a slight bump in displacement(hopefully 3.5 liter) and hondas new iVTEC, and that will be a recipe for a nice mid sized rocket. Just my opinion.

Wow, six years already. Nothing seems to have changed.

It's a bloody lie to cover up their incompetence. If Honda can build a competitive handling fwd platform, we would have seen a FWD 300hp RL, not the expensive AWD one that can't sell.
