no power after startup and putting on D
no power after startup and putting on D
Hi
I noticed for the last few days (doesnt happen all the time) when I start my car put on D and drive slowly for 20-50 feet then if I wanna speed up I have no power - nothing at all unless I floor it then I have my power back . Only thing I replaced few weeks ago was a faulty primary oxy sensor, but then again it did happen once before that too so I thought that faulty oxy sensor was causing that. Any idea what it can be???? my biggest worry is tranny
thanks for the help

If you mean that the engine rpms won't go up unless you floor it, then I don't see how this could be a tranny issue. If the tranny is slipping the rpms will certainly rise as throttle is applied.
Have you cleaned the whole intake manifold system, throttle body and EGR valve? Problems related to this usually build up over time and become more noticeable when the intake passages are plugged up good.

Hey Ttorski, what year of TL do you have and how many miles ?
How long have you had the car and do you know the previous maintenance history ?
Have you recently done any work that may have provoked this problem, other than the O2 sensor replacement ? Did you have a code for this ?
Are you getting any codes presently ? Have you cleaned the EGR passageways and the intake TB as previously asked by Victus1 ? Check out the forum's "DIY" for help also.

was there an O2 failure code? or you just guessed?
is it the OE brand DENSO--dont have to buy at dealer but thats the stock part
the wires were a direct connection--no splicing?
did you reset the ECU after O2 install?
pull the CLOCK fuse on passenger end of dash for a minute and reinsert
inspect throttle assembly-cables to throttle body-mechanism
must remove top plastic cover over engine for access
