Nighthawk Black Pearl...Are you happy with it?
I will be purchasing a TL-S shortly and am trying to decide between Nighthawk Black Pearl and Silver. For those of you that have NBP, are you happy with it or do you wish you would have purchased a different color? How easily do stone chips and small scratches show up? Thanks for your help.

Jump ball!
When I'm washing my NBP I cry a little as I see all the little chips, but when I step back after putting on yet another coat of Zaino----suh-weeeeeeeeet!
The black just looks so damn good when it's clean, it sort of makes up for the PIA it can be.
I'm sure this wasn't much help to you, but it really is a tough call to make. But it's probably fair to say that the silver will hide the inevitable stone chips much better.

WITH A BLACK CAR EVERYTHING IS GOING TO SHOW UP, NO MATTER HOW WELL YOU TAKE CARE OF IT THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN/SHOW UP ON BLACK. LIKE YOYODINE SAID YOU JUST CANT BEAT BLACK WHEN IT IS CLEAN

O.G.
I have a NBP TL and I LOVE IT!!! Yea you can see everything on it but nothing beats a nice clean black car!:wow:
IMO, silver will be easier to keep clean but then you will see everybody and their mother driving a silver car because it is so common.
And if you go to any meet, the silver cars will always outnumbered all the other colors. You can take that as being good or bad. :p

To tell you the truth, I wish I would of gotten the White or Blue. My Black TL-S is nice, but is too hard to keep clean. And silver is kind of plain. I think silver is great on BMW, but not with TL's. (*Just my opinion!!) But just to let you know before you get a Black car, you better like washing your cars or know a hook-up at a carwash.

As much as I like dark colored cars (I have ABP) my next car will be silver. My sister owns a silver 1997 honda civic and the paint seems just as good as it was long ago, yet mine is easily noticeable. If you change cars often, then by all means get the color of your choice. But if you plan on keeping the car forever (like me) then go for silver...or better yet white.

I agree with JohnC1010. Get the white or blue. Black is just to hard to maintain, unless you like washing your car just about every weekend. I gotta tell you though a nice clean waxed out NBP looks absolutely gorgeous at night time with the street lights hitting it. I caught myself staring at it a few times...hehe.

I love my NBP TL I keep it up pretty good & would not get another color. If you plan to spend time washing your car at least once a week get the NBP. If your only going to do it once a month get another color. This is my first black car & it was not my first choice. I have always had burgundy cars from HONDA & my color choice for the TL was Firepepper Red. I could not get the color combo with Navi I wanted & went for the NBP/Ebony/Nav. My next car will most likely be black also.

I have had both colors, my current car is silver. I'll start by saying that no car looks as nice when its clean as a Black car does. However, the silver is 100 times easier to keep clean - I would never own another black car.

Black is the pimpest color! Hardest to take care of, but if you keep it sparkling clean...nobody's got anything on you! If you have no garage...don't get a black car.

Taking care of the car has turned into a weekend hobby for me, so I don't mind washing and waxing it. Gets me outdoors... Oh and it looks awesome from dusk to dawn. Black just has that 'glow' when properly cared for that you won't get on any other color.

I wanted a WDP at first, but I eventually settled for the NBP. Honestly, I think it is an awesome color. Sure it gets dirty easily, but at night, I don't notice anything and it seems to glow
. After I wash the car, I always stand back a bit and kind of admire the smooth black surface.

To acnup00tl - Do you have a suggestion between Lindsay or Acura Columbus? I am going to try the fax attack to all dealers in Ohio, S. Michigan, E. Indiana and W. Pennsylvania. I have heard great things about Park Acura in Akron. Once I get the lowest offer, I will probably try to see in Linsay, Acura Columbus or Park Acura will match it.

NBP is very very nice... I do not understand what acnup00tl is talking about when it is said that the paint on the 2k2 is better than the 99. Was the 99 paint that horrible? I mean, when I look at my car too much, I can see the paint flake off.... On the subject, though, if you ain't got a garage and the ability to wash and clean your car often (Once a week), then opt for a different color...

NBP clean and polished ... i don't think much looks better than that. I have the Satin Silver Metallic, and I just finished my first detailing session with the works: claybar, Zaino, etc. It looks awesome! Real shiny. I'm blabbing about the Silver, but for a good point. I don't have a garage. If I did, I would have the NBP, but since my car is outside most of the time, I opted for the easy cleaning Silver.

I guess I can only reiterate what everyone else has already said...I love the black, it looks really good when clean, but it's a ***** to maintain and I also cry everytime I notice new swirls.(No paint chips or scratches thank god).
If my next car is a Benz, I will get silver.
If you have a garage, then I would get the black. If not, you'll be leaving it outside all day and even after you wash it, the dust just clings to your car in a matter of hours.

Is there another color. I had a NBP 2000 TL-P and traded for a 2002 NBP TL-S. I am very anal about keeping my car washed and waxed. My wife has a silver Odyssey and the silver color is much less maintenance. Black looks good but it takes a lot of work to keep it looking good.

Yo, dj5 - Excellent choice of vehicles. It is good to know that there is another garage in the world that contains the same color and type of vehicles as the one mine has... :-)

Just finished zaino'ing my '03 NBP TL-S today (2 coats) ... Take a look if you'd like to checkout what it looks like. Unfortunately, it was cloudy all day today so the pictures dont quite do it justice ... it still looks shiny, it just doesnt sparkle too much because there's no sun! ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
