Nice to know ya transmission
Nice to know ya transmission
I think my transmission is finally giving up. I notice the problem especially going up hill where it fumbles around for a gear and just revs without accelerating. I also hear a distinct metallic sound and then a clunk. Hopefully Acura can replicate this problem and give me a new transmission.
Any thoughts?

^^ How many mileage? Listen to my story, my 99's transmission took a death after 3 month my warranty had expired. I had appx 75,000 mileage. When I took it it, he's like your warranty is up, HOWEVER you will be still covered. Acura knows this problem, and they will take care of it for you. Get your car registered under Acura and see if there is some history!
68,000. I have only had it for ten days.
How lucky do you think I will get if I am over the 7 year period and the dealership says my warrenty is expired but I can be covered?
What do you mean registering it w/ Acura? Is there a cost?

I talked to an Acura customer service rep today and they said that 2nd gen tl's are covered for either 7yrs and 9 months or 109k miles. BUT my car has 126k miles on it and they said that if I went to an acura dealership and got tests ran on my tranny and they said it was about to go out then Acura would probably help with a new one.

if anything, they might just make you pay for parts and they'll cover labor

reversed I would rather pay labor than parts on the trans replacement.
