Nice Compliment

I just left Rubio's and when I was walking out a couple had just parked their huge Chevy Trunk by my car. The guy was pointing over toward my car and saying something to his wife. When I got closer he said,"Wow thats a beautiful car, what model is it?" I told him it was a 3.2TL and he started to talking to his wife again looking over at my car. That was cool! First time a total stranger complimented my car.

get used to it...

i've been complimented from people of all walks of life...a bean counter from American Honda, a older guy who was asking me all kinds of questions, a carload of young girls, another guy getting into his car after the valet dropped it off...it's quite flattering

but the best one was when I had the 95 Supra...a carload of young kids came up to me on the freeway in their accord...the girl in the front passenger seat lifted up her shirt and pressed her creamy young fully exposed breasts against the window and took off...needless to say it was easy to catch up to them to get another look but she was obviously extremely embarassed because she was hiding under the door sill...hehehehe! oh the phone numbers i used to get...

Re: Nice Compliment

Cool... Nice to hear that strangers are commenting on your ride. I'm personally really excited. I'm picking my new TL up in 10 hours. This is the first car I've ever purchased and registered in my own name, so it's a whole series of firsts. I've wanted an Acura for the past 12 years, and finally my dream comes true!

For you other "seasoned" owners, what else do I have to look forward to, other than styling on the road?

I came out from paying for the gas I just pumped and there was a man and women staring at my car. I thought, Oh God they hit me. As I approached they said "What an awesome looking car". We talked for about five minutes. Came to find out they were looking at new cars and had never considered the TL. They were looking at Infinity, Lexus & Nissan. They went to Acura right form there. I told them about the website, dunno if they swung by or not....

Cool

I've had a couple similar experiences. I came out of the grocery store to find a guy checking out the car. I walked up and he complimented me on the car and the color and started asking me how I liked it and such. Also once a gas station I had a guy come over to me with similar comments.

I haven't even owned the car for a month.

COMPLIMENTS

I've had my TL for about 1 month now and I've already gotten about a half dozen compliments. Ranging from an ex, to some old folks, to this really hot chick. Oh, and the hot chick compliment was day1 before I even drove it off the lot! She was in there looking for a new car and we struck up a conversation. Unfortunately, her husband was there too.
GOD I LOVE MY CAR!

i've only gotten two compliments one was from a mechanic that was working on my car, no not an acura dealer. he really liked the engine and started telling me how if you put two of the 2.5L engines in series you'd get an indy car. i'm like, tiiiight. cause all honda did was chop their indy car in half and you get MY car. and the second one was at the grocery store. i was walking away from my car when a couple started walking around my car and staring at it. that made my day

Well, I've had mine now for 13 1/2 hours... I've gotten my parents, my brother, a few co-workers, and a few other friends lovin' it. Actually, it was more like, "S**t! This is so amazing!"

The thing is, I keep going through this in my head, thinking to myself, "So, what exactly did I do? I'm 29, and I'm driving the coolest car I could think of. I don't deserve this."

The best compliment I got was from the parking attendant at my lot. He told me that he'd have to move me to another spot. That's *exactly* what I wanted to hear. Basically, he was concerned with hurting the car... and if he thinks *he* was concerned, you can only imagine what I thought about that.

So, I'm officially an adult with a great car, and I'm looking forward to meeting that girl in the picture that someone posted from Florida. Well, doesn't necessarily need to be her, but I think this is a means to an end...

I can tell you that feeling doesn't go away. It's a healthy attitude.

When I called my insurance agent for my brand new TL, she asked me if I wanted to upgrade my rental coverage "because the kind of car you can rent for $30/day isn't going to be anything like what you're used to." Oh man... we hath arrived, elfbjorn.

Courtesy Call Today...

So, I'm driving home tonight, and I get a call from my Acura sales representative. Granted, I expected to hear from her, but it was still great to get that call.

Mentl said that the feeling going through me now -- you know, about owning the Acura -- doesn't go away. That's what my sales rep said, also. She's been driving an Acura for years (although, that could be part and parcel with the sales pitch, but she was the first car sales person that was ever up front with me), and still can't get over it.

Mentl, you said it best... We hath arrived.

(Oh, and my real name is Adam, for further reference...)
