Newbie... with ?'s

hello all!
I am 15 and in the market for a car, and no not a new one. I am looking for a car with power, yet luxury and style. I will be buying a car in about 9 months and my price is around 22k. The Tl type - s is a sweet car. Could some one give me some specs such as quarter mile, 0-60 and maybe even top speed?
Thanks in advance for the help!

can't you look it up in car magazines or online?

o well... here it is.

Type S I believe is 6.2 0-60, 14.6/7 in quarter

Normal TL is 6.7 0-60, 15.2 in quarter

Mine's 13.6 in the quarter

oh..and btw...im glad your considering a TLS....everyone in my school drives beamers and audi's and i still get looks from people...just make sure you get atleast the body kit to start out with...its the diff between people saying..."nice ride" and "my grandma drives soemthing like that"....it might be an expesive mod to start with...but its a must if your in highschool....also...i dotn know what else your considering...but you'll have alot more fun in a TLS...its cheaper and faster then a 3 series/A4 before mods

Try www.car-stats.com for 0-60 and 1/4 mile times ... and if you're looking for speed with a little bit of luxury, I'd recommend a '03 Nissan Maxima SE 6-spd. They can be had for pretty cheap in the used market... stripped down they're probably like $15-18k, but they're fast, faster than a TL-S in 6spd form. Just not as much luxury unless the car has more of the options.

With the money you saved on the car, you can probably dump some of it into mods ... learn to install them yourself and become more familiar with cars. A good learning experience for someone just getting their license

Thanks guys.
I am considering (other than the tls) an audi S4 (insurance would be way too expensive though), an audi a4 3.0, a Lexus is300. Sometimes the passat W8 is tempting, but my older brother drives a passat and I hate that car.

Are you a drug dealer? Thats the only way I could see at 15 you're driving (or expecting to drive) a car that costs 30+ K?

All jokeing aside...of the ones you mentioned, the S4 is a great car if u can get one for a decent price. But for the money TL-S is def. the way to go.

Thats what I think, the tls is a great deal. I am planning on buying a used one, and you can find great deals on them. The S4 is what I really want. But it is considered an exotic because its twin turbo and all wheel drive. My older brother drives a Passat and I would have to pay the difference between than and the S4 if it was a substancial difference.
BTW, no im not a drug dealer. My parents are buying me the car, they are willing to spend a good amount (around 24k) because they want me to have a safe car. How is the safety on the tls? How many air bags does it have?

03 has front and side airbags (4 in total I believe)...I think its the same with the 02, but not positive. If you do a search you might be able to find a couple pics of other members whom have unfortunate incidents with their TL-S. From what I remember some got into some nasty crack-ups and the passenger cabins didn't look too bad.

Hummers arent that safe, there is a picture of an H2 roaming around on the web of one that hit another truck and was owned. I wouldnt want to drive one anyways, too much of a symbol status.
