Newbie owner checking in
Hello all,
I've been browsing the forums for a few weeks as I contemplated purchasing my new car, but now I'm a full-fledged owner! Just picked up my silver TL-S w/navi yesterday. From viewing the posts it seems like I got a good deal for the Southeast area ($32990 OTD, including trunk tray and wheel locks). So far so good - I love it!
There are so many things I love about this car, but to add to the list of items that would bring it closer to perfection, I would add:
- make the clock on the navi auto-update from the satellites. This is a no-brainer, is easy to implement (I work with GPS @ my business), and in addition to keeping perfect time it would also know the date, allowing the clock to automatically adjust for daylight savings time.
- make navi voice volume follow radio volume.
- when the navi temporarily determines that you are "off the highlighted route" then adjusts your position back, it changes from "split screen" mode to "directions only" mode. This happened to me several times on my trip home from the dealer and was a bit annoying since I *was* on the route, and had to keep switching back to my prefered screen mode!
- allow the cd player to shuffle across all discs, in addition to a single disc. While it may make long pauses between tracks, this is a great feature to have on long trips. Those who don't want the long pauses could chose the single disc shuffle.
- this one is probably specific to me, but I wish the 12v accessory plug (cigarette lighter) was higher up the dash so that I could plug in my Nokia hands-free phone adapter!
I guess I better stop, for fear of appearing like I don't like my new car
Thanks to everyone posting in this forum for the wealth of information and useful critical comments - it helped greatly in my buying decision and purchasing power!
Can't wait to start enjoying my new TL-S!

> Where in NC did you buy?
> Just curious. I bought mine at Leith in Cary. Salesman was Mike Mitchell.
Although I live in Raleigh, I shopped SC, NC, and VA for the best price. I used the email blast method suggested by someone else on this forum (sent BCC emails to all dealerships in the three states asking for best quote). No one could beat the deal I got at Riddle Acura in Chesapeake, Va - $31,600 for my TL-S w/navi, which came to $32990 OTD after TTL. Leith in Cary wanted around $34K.
