Ok so I bought some pre-installed headrests that match my '99 3.2tl perfectly in looks. So I try to put them on today and the two bars that go down into the seat are too narrow. They just are a hair wide enough. And while I can stretch them out to make them fit, they won't go all the way down because once the actual hea rests starts getting closer to the seat it gets hard to puish htme down and I don't want to break them. Is there anyway that I can widen the holes on the seats so that they will fit? All help is greatly appreciated! thanks

 

it is better to narrow the posts (file down the posts) rather than widen the holes.

 

If the wire are comming out of side of the rod instead of in the rod you then can beable to switch out the rod form your TL to your new headrest. Will take some work, but can be done.
Question why did you buy the adjustable rod TV headrest that go from 14-18 wide?

 

Ok, I am just an idiot I suppose... I took my car to Circuit City to have them install my indash dvd/tv and showed them the headrests. First the dude said that the wouldn't fit and best bet is to sell them. Next the main technitian came out and said that he got them to fit and did I wanted them installed. I about pissed my pants from excitement. They ended up being adjustable you just had to really crank down on the posts and turn them. Anyways, I don't have a digital camera right now but I took some pics with my webcam jsut now and they look horrible bc it is 2:15 in the morning but I am going to post them anyways and I will take some more tomorrow during the day which should come out better... so here is the finished product:
