new tranny and still a slaping/ticking noise.??

well i took her in to acura because of this loud ticking/slapping noise ive been hearing since i bought my 02 tls, but it only does it after ive been drivng around for bout 15 min. she's totally silent when i first start it up in the am and for about 10-15 min of driving, then slowly it starts this slapping/ticking noise... well after a week she's done, and i drive it home and yup.. that damn slapping ticking noise is back. does any one know if they replace the torque converter when they replace the tranny? i put it on a lift before i took it in and listened with a screw driver to the ear and it sounds like its commin from between the torque converter and where the first set of pistons would be on the crank.. and its commin from the back side just above the oil pan. i havent heard of ANY major problems with the tl-s motors, but now im gettin alittle worried.. does any one else have this same noise? sorry for all the worry questions, but im about to move to the uk in feb and i dont need a car over there that i cant get fixed.. well atleast in my budget anyways. any info would be great....

The torque converter Should be replaced whith the new tranny! The Tq converter shouldnt be making the noise. If your getting a ticking noise, id bring it back to the dealer. Especially if your hearing it from the bottom end. (even though noises in the engine are very hard to pinpoint)

well today i took down the oil pan. didnt foind anything being worn or anything. all endplay was good all the way acrost the board for the rod bearings. im just at a loss. im thinkin its piston slap, but it doesent get worse as i accellorate it actually goes away. just at idle till about 2k rpm if im sittin in park or neutral. the pitch doesent change as i put it in gear. new tranny and tc, as of yesterday. im thinkin ill have to check the valve clearences just to make sure they arent hittin anything. has anyone else had any problems with the tl-s motor? im pretty sure no one has. oh yea while i was down there with most of the exhaust manifold off, i swapped out the headers from my 99 3.0 cl. (stone racing made for cl-s 6 speed) perfect fit by the way. and gobbs more torque. now if i can just get rid of this fawkin clanking, slapping, tapping noise. oh yea i also went back to the dealership where i bought it and started up and ran another type-s and it did it too but just barley enough to hear. so its something that they all do but mine is loud as hell. you can hear it like 8 parking spots away.

its nothing with the tranny.

its something to do with the fuel line if i remeber correctly as i noticed this myself and called the dealership. something about it warming up and allowing something to perform.
