New Tranny Kills Performance!!

Just got my stock '03 TL-S out from the dealer today w/ the new tranny. Bought w/ 28k, tranny died at 37k. Definitely not as fast and passing power has gone way down. So I got a new tranny, but the car isnt as fun to drive. Dealer told me it will take time for the computer to learn my driving patterns and the tranny would adjust to my driving style. What a load of crap! Acura cut the balls of my Type-S to save the tranny. Shift points and rpm limiter has been altered. That torque that would put me back in the seat is now gone. Love the car, but now it's just ordinary. Oh well, guess i'll hang onto it for a while and see what happens.

let it get through the break in period first before you judge it. it is a new transmisson. it has to break in just like an engine. and the computer idea is plausable. just like when you add any after market part to the car the computer has to adjust.

Lets hope the computer will re-learn; but when the vehicle was purchased new, the computer did not need to learn or need to break in to get that torque. When you test drive a brand new car, how is the computer going to learn for you to make the decision to purchase the car?

12000 miles since my new transmission and my car never learned. The shift points WERE altered by the PCM, and some of the grunt my TL had disappeared. It's not speculation, it's not a butt dyno, it's a fact. My car's personality changed with the new transmission.

ive had 2 pcm changes and not one of them made the car slower. they made it faster. the shifts were faster with less lag at wot.

try to reset the ECU and start the car cold then let it idles for 15 minutes.
Maybe it will let the ECU learn the new transmi.

I have had my PCM replaced on two occassions for different issues, and the second time it actually like others have said actually improved my shift points, and performance. Give it time
