New Tranny
New Tranny
Well I just got my new (rebuilt) tranny put in my 03 TL-S. The car has never driven this good! I just hope it continues to feel this way. Shifts are positive and smooth, without excessive slippage. Before the drivetrain felt like it had a vibration that I could feel in the excelerator pedal, but that is now gone.
Just after I got mine done, my wife comes home and says her 01 TL shakes when going into drive or park. Well she just got a new tranny too. She had 60,000 mile without a hickup, and then out of the blue it happened. Her car is just fine now and drives like new.
This stuff really bothers me and I don't think we will buy another Honda/Acura vehicle again. Having said that we were both given a Chevrolet Impala as loaners and man the difference in our TLs and the Chevies was night and day. God those things are a pos. My wife said she could not wait to get my car back, and I felt the same way. The experience showed us both how spoiled we have become and how really nice these Tls are. Just wish Honda would get there act together.
For now I am a happy guy and my NHP/black 03 TL-S is one fine car. There is not a day goes by that I don't catch someone checking it out. Even the kids at my daughters high school think it is a fine car, and you know kids know the hot stuff to have. I'm 56 years old and drove a 1963 405 hp Pontiac GP. Shit that car was fast, but not as nice or as poised as the TL.
Well Adios for now and remember, "Use it, or lose it!"
