New TL factory Alarm

I have a 99 TL, and saw a TL-S in a parking lot and heard the guy arm his factory alarm, It sounds different....a small crisp chirp sound. Any way I can change my alarm to make that sound instead of the horn "farting" sound?

I looked into this with Park Ave Acura, as I have the same thing as you do...it's possible, but we didn't figure out just yet....their horn-alarm doesn't sound as weak as ours...our farting alarm works with the panic alarm, theirs doesn't....it's two separate unit's..one for the beep, one for the panic alarm..

Sounds like you guys need to step up to aftermarket alarms.
The arm/disarm sounds on mine can be changed from loud chirp or quite chirp or silent. Mine makes a clink sound like beer bottles hiting each other when I disarm it. I have it set to auto/arm & lock in silent. What sound does the 99& 00 make when its arm & disarmed? I have a 2000TL but had my Clifford alarm put in the day after I got the car almost 2yrs ago. I forget what sound it makes & have only sounded the factory alarm HORN 3 times since having the car.

My wife thinks it sounds like an out of tune piano. I love the sound my Clifford makes, so much different than all the other alarms out there.

if you're talking about the factory "theft-deturrant" system...from what I've read, the 00+ beeped (I know because I have a '00 and a '02), while 99's honked. Ed, you have a 99 TL...is this right?

yeah, I have to push the Lock button a couple of times just to make sure I hear it.......well, at least it's not an annoying honk, like the one our Civic had....

I love that nice little beep noise the 00 - UP TL's give off. heheh! It's the same as the Lexus alarms! My condo complex is gonna have three cars making that nice crisp beep noise when i get my TL in the weeks ahead!!!!! *jumps up and down* My friend's mom has a ES300, and he told me he can adjust the volume on it... o_O* Maybe we should go and take that little piece of thing and intergrate it into our cars..hehe!

how do you get it to beep the first time you press it? i have to press it like 14 times for it to beep:o i know on the 1st gen. CL you can turn the beep on and off. is there any way to do it with a 2000 TL? i would like to hear the beep without jamming my remote buttons in:p

It'll only beep if you push the lock button a few seconds right after initially pushing it. It never beeps the first time you push the lock button....read your driver's manual.
