yeah many people have done it and the majority of people said there is no rubbing even after comptech springs.
i am actually thinking about the same thing. but i might get wheels later (like 2-3 years later).

Thanks guys! I personally do not want to go lower than 55's because I do like the ride of factory tires, which of course, you know is 60's. I will not be racing anyone, but I just want to keep the factory luxury look!

I talked to some people work at tire shops. They actually told me that it is not a good idea to put 225/55/16 on a 16' 6 1/2' rim. He told me that the rim not wide enough for the time.... But that's just what they said. Maybe they just want to sell me a extra set of rims...
But I talked to two different Acura dealrs, they both told me that you might get bubble on the side of your tire....

That's what crossed my mind too, and that's why I waited to do the whole package. 225 on 6.5 inch rim, that would worry me.

The rule of thumb for wheel width is 70-90% of the tread width. 6.5 rims are about 73%. They fit fine and don't rub. They look great on the rims. Plus the wheels will be MUCH less likely to get scarred when your wife tries parallel parking with your L

I don't think anyone has had problems with 225/55/16 tires. When it is time to replace my tires i wheel get that size.

I have had 225/55/16s on my stock wheels for over a year and a half. Not a single problem. If you're sticking with the stock wheels I would definately suggest 225s.

I would go with 215/55-16, but the tires I wanted aren't available in 215's. Many aren't! But if they were, I would probably get 215's over 225's next time.

dude, just go with 225/55/16s, stop debating... there's no point. if you put on 215s, your gauges will be off a lot, that's a no doubt, and there's no problem at all with 225s

It is definitely true that you will be adding some "Phantom mileage" with the 215-55-16s since it has an overall diameter 9.5mm less than the stock tires (circumference will be less than the stock tires by 29.85mm). But effectively what that will add up is, approximately about 750 additional "phantom mileage" on your odometer readings at 50000 miles. So your car's warranty will expire 750 miles before the car has truly reached the 4yr/50000 mile warranty limit.
The 225-55/16s are closest (to the stock tire/wheel diameter), since the overall tire/wheel combination diameter is "off" from the stock diameter by just 1.5mm....which is no biggie since if you have been using the 225 tires for a while, it would hit the stock tires' diameter perfectly (225s has a diameter 1.5mm more than the stock tires).
I would probably think seriously about adding 215/60-16s since that combination has a diameter that is slightly larger than the stock tire/wheel combination diameter....I think the Michelin Pilot XGT-V4 All-seasons are available in that size....your odometer would be slightly "off" but then you will not add any "phantom mileage" to the car...you will actually "gain" some additional mileage....
