Well it is that time again where we are close to what should be the release of the Navigation update following the recalled 2.11b. The new version is stated to be 2.11c and acording to the order website www.acuranavi.com the availability is late February.

If anyone gets this update please report here about it.

I filled out the form and I'm on a waiting list since the recall of 2.11b.

Supposibly there won't be any changes from 2.11b to 2.11c other than to address the bug in 2.11b with saved entries. But you never know they could change other things.

:o Got my new 2.11c today, after loading it i got back the old addresses from before loading 2.11b, however it losted the new ones that i have entered since loading 2,11b in dec. werd!!!

I should have stated that what i recieved was a patch for 2.11c since i got one of the first one with problems. New fixes include: "Previous Destionations lockout" "Destinations on incorrect side of the road". (No map data base).

At last check (which was early last week), the person I spoke to when I ordered the new navi disc said "They're on target to start sending out update and new discs the week of Feb. 23" (Next week)

I haven't been following the 2.11b disc probs lately - what exactly went wrong with it?
I'm glad I didn't rush and get the 2.11b for our Odyssey.

i ordered mine on acura's site a couple of weeks ago and haven't received anything yet.

what you are saying is that you got TWO dvds? one 2.11c dvd and a patch dvd for it?

What he is saying is that he got 2.11b when it came out ...before it was taken off the shelf. And that he just recently got a patch disk for 2.11b which essentially makes his 2.11b work just like the software that will come in 2.11c when it ships.

I doubt it. This new DVD disc is dual layer unlike the previous one which was single layer. When dual layer or blue laser DVD burners come out later this year then you will be able to back up your copy of the new disc.

i went to acuranavi.com today and now it says they are out of stock of 2.11c version, so they must have shipped them all out

this is what it says:

"We are temporarily out of stock on the navigation disc for your vehicle. We anticipate we will be able to ship your order by the end of March. If you wish to place an order now please select “Continue”. Your credit card will not be billed until the disc ships. "

WTF?? The screw up and delay it for months and months and then when they are finally ready, they hardly make enough?? How long does it take to burn a DVD??... Come on now-- i know this is an Alpine problem, but this is another example of Acura not meeting expectations. One update in over 2 years when they originally said it would be every fall. Pathetic...

Yeah, well you want to know what is even worse...

If the statement about end of March is true for delivering 2.11c, that means most will not get it until April or later. Now here is the kicker, the DVD was locked down in July 03 which makes the DVD almost dated by a year before you even use it!

I sure hope you are right and that they have shipped all existing pre-orders. This better not turn out to be yet another delay for those with existing pre-orders.

I check my order status and it says: "Order Status: Order Book " which is the same thing it has said for months. So that means it hasn't shipped! Unless they haven't updated their online order status database, but what good is it if they done use it?

I ordered my disc about 3 weeks ago, when the website message still said they'd start shipping in late Feb, and my order status has gone from "Not enough stock to ship" to "Order Book." I've called them yesterday about what "Order Book" means, and they said that the order is just waiting to get shipped. They told me that it would be shipped either this week, or early next week (or so they say). I had no idea they ran out of discs again! I hope that means they can't ship any more orders until late March, and that everyone who got their orders in before they posted that "late March" message is just waiting on some slow kid, making minimum wage, to print out their address label, slap it on a box, and kick it out the door.

i'll called them yesterday and i was told that the shipment was going out "this week" for those of us that ordered it previously. any new orders will be shipped out in the end of march. the lady said there was no way of knowing if my particular disc was shipped, or if i have to wait....

i was also told back in December that they would overnight the disc to me because of the wait, so i hope to receive it anyday now. hope is the key word.......

Ugh... I was told that the status of my order, when it shipped, would change and that the tracking number would be included on the www.acuranavi.com site. Getting multiple stories is not a good sign that they are getting the discs out as promised (again).

Just checked my order status online and it says my disc is on it's way. There is a tracking number everything. The only thing is, they shipped it ground instead of overnight as they promised. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers and monday isn't that far away....

I'm getting my disc too!

I just check my order status and it says "Order Status: Order Shipped" and there is a link with the tracking number right there. Tracking estimated delivery is March 1st. They shipped it ground from Gardena, CA. I'm in Florida so I guess I have the longer to wait for a UPS Ground shipment....darn (North and Mid East would be longest though). I thought they were going to overnight for no extra (because of the backorder wait time). I suppose the only people getting overnighted are those that selected that shipment method or are recieving a patch disc for 2.11b. Some of you that aren't so far from Gardena, CA will get it first.

I just happened to check out the acuranavi sight again to see if now they tell me May 2006. Instead, no window popped up telling me they are sold out. Does this mean that they have them in stock again? Or just that they don't want to advertise how backed up they are and stilll want the money now.. ANybody call them recently? I think i may to see whats up.

Folks, just got off the phone with them and they have the DVD's in stock. All backordered orders have been shipped and all new orders will be shipped after the order is placed. Strange how it changes from mid-april to now within a day! But i'm not complaining, unless of course the story changes after i place my order.

I ordered mine on Tuesday night, received the "backordered until late March" message, but it showed up via UPS today!

Seems to work fine; installation was a breeze. Interface is identical to my previous version (from 2 yrs ago), but MANY more streets. Every rural area that I'm familiar with is now mapped. Previously, my town only had state/county roads and no points of interest; now all roads and most businesses are on the map.

How did you get it before me? You are in Jersey and you ordered it Tuesday? Did you pay for express delivery? I placed my order 2 months ago.

Question: Is the new unverified coverage in 2.11c grayed out where it is hard to see the roads? That was the biggest complaint from those that got 2.11b and I was hoping that was fixed (although if they did I'm sure the 2.11b people would be wanting a refund or a free upgrade to 2.11c). But I just thougth I would ask.....I can't wait to get mine.

There was no graphical changes to 2.11c. Unfortunately unverified roads are still a light grey in day mode and a beige/yellow in night mode and very hard to see.

This update took about 2 1/2 years to come out... so I suggest you get it now.

upgrade to new version went perfectly. took about a minute or so just like it said in the booklet.

i'm really happy with the updated coverage. for me personally, Athens has been GREATLY improved.

Yes, unverified roads are grey. Not impossible to see, but definitely a bit of a strain.

I ordered mine Tuesday night, paid for 2 day UPS, and it showed up Thursday.

i find its easier to see in "day" mode than the "night" mode....

damn, i order mine December 1st and i pay for 2 day UPS and i get it ground, it shows up Friday. i guess i learned my lesson about pre-ordering this sh1te from Acura....

For those that preordered and are upset that they paid for 2 day shipping and it is instead comming ground check your credit card statment. I just check my credit card online and I only got charged $185. So shipping was FREE

Yeah, they told me they were going to nix the shipping and send the disc overnight for free, but they were going to charge me my state's tax. Turns out, they shipped it to me ground (just like everyone else) and they didn't charge me state tax. :smackhead: So, my CC has only been hit up for $185. Oh, and about that ground shipping, my order was last seen in VERNON, CA on Feb. 25, at 1:32 am, heading East. If anyone sees my disc floating around out there, would you please ask it to get it's a$$ moving? J/P It's really weird, the tracking just stopped last wednesday on the UPS site... Oh well, they say it's supposed to be here tomorrow and it's "On time"
