New gauges

I have a 02 tl type s, and tried to do the led gauge DIY a while ago. Bent the needles a touch so my gauges read ten mph high and turn slow. Also the LEDs aren't bright. I just want to go back to stock correct reading gauges. I don't want to do any work past install (don't want to put the needles in risking bending them again) and want it calibrated. What are my options?

i personally would go to an auto wrecker/recycler and buy a new gauge cluster and swap the mileage computer part.

You can actually just buy the speedometer part of the cluster for about 30 bucks. It needs no precise installation, everything comes pre attached. It's part 6 in the link. If you need the RPM or Fuel/Temp gauges, those are both 30 bucks each.

As for the bulbs, just try to return it to stock via reverse install?

Why would you take out the needles for the led conversion in the first place?

I don't think he took them out. Maybe was just too aggressive and bent/snapped it? The Type S gauge backs don't like to rotate very much. Because of that, it's easier to mess up the needle when removing the dye. Either way, once the needle moves out of the motor, it's done for.

when i did it, i thought i read to remove the needles so i could remove that blue film on the plastic gauge back.
either way, my gauges are shot. so if i buy the speedometer and fuel assemblies, i can just drop them in and they will work, no calibration?
