Thumbs up New AutoCarParts site open!

After 3 months of working on new design and database, I just launched the site!

Special thanks goes out to geaux4it, Cuong and Nate. Without them, this site would not look and function as how well as it is, not to meantion be no where near done.

Our Goal- To have the largests performance parts database on the Interent! With over 10,000 parts already entered, were on our way!
http://www.autocarparts.com/index.php3
Enjoy!

Now you have my time to get back to the things that need to be done around here

Yep, and now I'm gonna go take a nap...

So we need to decide on something:

Do a search and click an item. See that it opens in a new window? This is to preserve the search results so you can esily come back to them.

Tim doesn't like the pop up because after you select what vehicle you have and you are looking at an item there is no way to get back to the list of vehicles.

Tim would rather have it open in the same window as the search results, I would rather have it open as a pop up and just have a "Back" link that takes you back to the list of vehicles.

Whats your opinion?

ZZZZzzzz..

Question

I went to the parts page to order that spoiler that I so deserve on my car.... but whenever I click the price to buy it, it says page not found. That happens with everything link to any product. Is the purchasing page down?

Tim has not yet gotten around to making a new Acura TL page. But you can simply use the new site to see what spoilers are available for an Acura TL... Click here for that!

I think that it should allow you to select your vehicle only once rather than every time you select a category. Makes it a pain to select your car under each type of category. Takes too long in my opinion. Other than that, great site.

It looks really good. Nice Work guys.

One thing so far. When you use "select by manufacturer" (PIAA Driving Lights, for example), the list opens up in it's own window with no toolbar. So when you click on an item to view it, the only way back to the list is to use the keyboard, which some people may not know.

However if you use select by vehicle, everythinq works fine.

Just a heads up.

Is there a way to save my car in a cookie so that I don't have to keep on selecting "Acura" "TL" "3.2" everytime?

Doesn't this work just as well? LORD STANLEY, look on the main page, select Acura and go from there. Then you only have to enter it once.

We are working on a way so the universal items don't clutter up the search results.

The "<- Back" link has been added to the item view page.

Works better that way. Don't know why I didn't try searching that way first. Oh well, thanks. Keep up the good work on the site guys.

It would be nice to show thumbnails on the search results page (rather than clicking on individual items to see what they look like.)

Yes... though that would slow down the site considerably... maybe a link to show thumbnails would be good.

The site looks great and is damn easy to use. One note -- I immediatly went to look for wheels for my 1997 2.5 TL and nothing came up. I figured that with a 4-bolt pattern, there would be at least a few choices. Oh well!
