Talking New Appreciation for my TL!

I just got back from Florida Sunday night and had not driven my car in ten days. Although I had an awsome time the best rental I was able to get was a 2001 Ford Taurus. I am only 20 so I was lucky I could get that. But anyway, I do not know what the Taurus is supposed to compete with, but it's certainly no where near the Accord or Camry. Right when I sat in it, to when I actually had to drive it, I knew it was a real JUNKER!!!!! I'd never, EVER, buy that car. I have about 15 minutes of my vacation video dedicated to all of the faults my friend and I found with the car.

The appreciation part came once I came home and drove my much missed TL!!! Wow, I swear it felt like a Benz to me!!!! Remember how when you first drove your TL off the lot it felt so amazing, then overtime you get so used to it that you find all these little problems with it? Well, I had the feeling as if I had just drove off the lot!!

To all of you that are not happy with your TL's, do not drive it for a week, rent a Ford or I'm guessing a lot of other cars out there, and I guarentee you, you'll love your baby once again!

Noam

Don't expect much from a FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily. Next time rent a mercedez... it only costs you $500/day.

The competition is OTHER possible rentals.. I think Mazda is becoming a popular rental car too..

When you go to Hertz(Ford Owned btw) all you see is the Ford Taurus.. And many of the other rental agencies use that as the car of choice as well..

and one more.. huge corporations use Fords as company cars.. due to it's low cost, low theft rate, and I'm sure discount they get from Ford..

I don't think their big market is for consumers..

But I know the feeling.. I had to drive a Dodge Stratus rental once.. and also I had to drive a 15 ft Ryder truck.. both times, after I got badk into the TL, I was speeding a bit...

Finally someone says something positive about the TL. However, as stated earlier, the Taurus is not even in the league of the Accord, much less a TL.

I also agree with you. Last year I was given a POS Malibu as a rental. Damn car could not go pass 100 mph. There were weird noises coming from everywhere and the interior was horrendous! When I got home, I took my TL out for a drive and I was in heaven.

Well, it's good to see he didn't follow the same route as me....I've been waiting for my money tree to grow. It's been a year since I planted that $1000 bill and it still hasn't even sprouted! :p

Avis rented me a white 2001 Chevy Impala POS w/ 5000 miles. Compare to my 92 Accord, my 9 year old Accord was smoother. the Impala squeeks every time I go over a bump. The door did not fit the body frame, and the seats are the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on

rental cars are worn out usually...even it only has 1000 miles...
ppl just try as hard as they can to test the rental car's limit...
no wonder it has all the squeeks and stuff...
