New 02 tls member - Hello
Hello,
My wife and I just bought an 02 tls with 135k miles.
We were not looking for that car especially but tried and fell in love with it.
A few things to check with the car though but these seem like the usual stuff on these models :
- car bought with no history => looks like I need to replace water pump and timing belt asap
- broken fog light
- foggy headlghts
Appart from that, the car runs like a dream.
Anyway you'll be hearing from us to keep it in good shape
Carrie and Nicolas

At the top of the thread list titles is the DIY master list with how to clear the headlight lens if its external no prob--internal a bit of a prob
and many other basic items and typical probs are in their own sections
enjoy, let us know if anything you need is not found- we are acura nuts!

We just moved from France and need to wait an other few weeks before receiving our container with tools and all the good stuff to fix the car. In the mean time, looking for a good car repair manual, is there one you recommend for and 02 tls ?
Thanks !

we are your repair manual--no kidding
there are real acura techs and many other talented and experienced people on here.
our `diy` section is extensive and covers all major and minor repairs and common problems-
up to trans tear down..that would be the limit iirc
how to remove the engine and trans but not their actual teardown,,not something the average person would `diy` anyway
Though you will find instructions on a complete engine swap with 6 speed manual trans,, in case you are bored some weekend~
tips on spark plug removal and things you wont find in any book are found here
welcome to America and acurazine

the shop manual is huge, and some members here will copy specific sections if you cant find a wire or other problem

if you have a question. ask him and it'll be solved swiftly

Excellent looks like we came to the right place, can't wait to get started on it.
One last thing that will need fixing, my wife took the car to Acura to get the airbag recall done and they told her - actually translated back to me in her own words - "the engine mounts are broken and leaking oil slowly"

So... waiting for my tools I could order the parts for THE car job number one. Now I don't like doing too many things at the same time as it could immobilize the car for too long and can make it real difficult for me to diagnose if there is a problem when starting again.
Ok, so I have my repair jobs prioritized like this, does that sound intelligent ?
Job 1
- Timing belt
- Idler pulley + bolt - Should replace anyway ?
- Adjuster pulley - Should replace anyway ?
- Tensioner - Should replace anyway ?
- o-ring for dipstick
- Water pump
- Thermostat
Job 2
- Engine mounts
- From the notes of the acura dealer, they say "broken front motor mt", "r. side mtr. mt broken"
Job 3
- Seafoam
- air filter
- oil change
- spark plugs
Job 4
- Replace or resurface rotors as car vibrates when braking
Job 5
- clean up head lights
- fog lights
Thanks for any advice so I do this in the right order
