NEON Undercar kit

I know some might think its ghetto but i was thinking about getting a Neon undercar kit either the Streetglow (with 2-54" & bulbs for the sides, 2-30" bulbs for the front & rear) or the Liteglow kit(2- 48" tubes & 2- 32" tubes). I just wanted some people's opinions on whether to get it or not. And what kit to get if I should get them. A friend told me they break quickly.... anyway thanks.

By the way I have a

Don't worry about what other people think because if you like the idea then go for it. It is your car so do what you like. Personally, I would get it but only turn it on for show, not driving with them on.
BTW, welcome to the board.

Aren't they illegal for street use?

Although I carry both of these kits, I'd personally go with the LOW GLOW kit, which we carry also. It has thinner diameter tubes, which are easier to conceal, and they are brighter.

I've seen cars on the road with underbody neons... they're pretty tacky IMO. It makes your car look "cheap" if you know what I mean.

By the way, about breaking quickly....we had them on several of our own cars for 2 - 3 years at a time with NO problems (daily drivers too)

Thanks for the REALLY QUICK imput. I was thinking about the Blue or Violet. I think those are the only ones that would match silver well. I really dont like white either. I know they are illegal, so are tints which i have too, but i think its worth the risk and I wouldnt use them for every day driving either.

Thanks

If I was going to do it, then I would get the blue color since my lights are blue in the front (HIDs, blue corners, blue sidemarkers).

Tinted windows don't attract the pigs the way a GLOWING car does at night think about it....

Oh yes, neon. I remember the good ol days when I had it. As for cracking, yes, I had that problem. This is a problem if you lower your car and you mount it incorrectly. Mine cracked everytime I took my car to the shop. The mechanic would drive my car up the lift (note it is not one of those 4 prong hoists you can move around) and crack it. Replaced it twice and said quits after that. But you do turn lots of heads and it does look cool at night. And yes, it is very illegal. Cops catch you and will slap you with a fine faster than you can say "blue neon" If you get it, just make sure that you are not driving with it on. Good luck.

I got the low-glow kit (full set) a month ago, i choose the hyper white neon to match the my HID and mostly because my TL is Taffeta White w/ White Axis 7. Just be really careful when you intall the neons, check for cracks before install! and also the only neon that is illegal are Blue & Red. White is legal because I've pass by Pigs every night while the neon is on.

I think the neon kit will look pretty hot on the TL as long as you have a kit and your car is dropped. Post pics when u do it.

Thumbs up

I have a 2000 silver TL. I don't have undercar neon but I have 2 10 inch green tubes mounted on the ceiling of the interior. At night when I plug em' in they look sweet. It looks like a space ship or something. I definitely recomend street glow if you are going to get the undercar neon. They are illegal in a lot of states so I don't know how much use you'll get out of them
