Neon Light Sticks....in car? Ricer?
My friend just spent the weekand putting Sound/Bass activated Neon Lights (a total of 6) in his car. He placed the lights underneath the seats and under the dash...all blue. It actually turned out ok, but I'm not sure I would mod my TL in such a way. At this point I'd rather spend the money on some engine mods. It just seems the lights would take away from the classiness of the TL.

If you have neon to have neon... then its ricey IMO... If you have spent a good bit of money on a sound system, and you hook them up, then I think thats semi-OK. Still, I agree... I would never do that, and I dont think TLs were made for neon lights! But I hate those DAMNED FAKE xenons even more! Ohh.. they piss me off when I see them!!

it doesn't matter what other people say. Sometimes rice is nice....Some people might consider highlighting a subwoofer box with neons is rice. I personally would like some neon lights inside the car, but only can be seen when turned on.

I think its fine when its done right but when it shows in the daytime than it looks ugly.. But ya THEY ARE pretty cool when done right, isnt the law that its illegal if the neon lightstick shows.. So all lights are legal as long as the stick doesnt show right?

O.G.
I have seen some very bad cases of neons in car but if done right and has a purpose then it is cool. Just don't over-do it and have a freaking rolling light show.

People are entitled to their opinions. They can do whatever they want as long as it makes them happy. So, for those who thinks neon is the way to go, then keep it up and make it look nice. As for those who hates it, then just keep your car clean and enjoy your car. Peace....

AH yes, To RICE or NOT TO RICE, that is always a question that pops up on this site. Actually, a cold cathode tube (brighter, smaller and easier to install than Neon) under each footwell would look pretty trick since there is no footwell lighting in the car, and keep in mind that the cold cathode tube is available in a bunch of colors besides just blue. This place sells 'em, btw ...
svcOnline With that said however, in my opinion FLASHING lights to the beat of the music is another story altogether. That would certainly be "un-TL-like" and probably fit in better on a Ford Focus or Mitsubishi Eclipse, although it would work equally as well in a round Rubbermaid Trash can my 2 cents ...

the cold cathode ray tube is what is used to illuminate a laptop display (they use a white one for that purpose). i dont know what gases they use in them, but they use low voltage so they are less damgerous, and they have a tremendous life. I think they are less fragile than neon also. And they sure are cheap enough at that site.

I was considering putting a green neon light in the moon roof. There is plenty of space. You just open the roof (not the glass part of course) and straight ahead in the front is room for a tube. You can than close the roof with no hinderance. It would require quite a bit of dissassemply for wire concealment though.
