Need some help... Really odd problem
Need some help... Really odd problem
Hey guys, I just thought I'd drop by here and see if anyone can offer any advice.
I hit someone three weeks ago that cut in front of me to avoid an accident. I sustained all of the damage on the front left corner and recently just got the car back from the shop.
Now here's the issue. My turn signals on the left side work normally,.. that is until I turn my headlights on. When I turn on the headlights, all of the sudden the turn signals on the left side don't work at all and my left headlight flickers and goes out. If I turn the headlights off, the signals work fine. Go figure. I've taken it back to the shop and they can't find the problem.
I figure that there's a short somewhere in the system, but I don't know where. Any ideas?

you definitely have some kind of short, i've seen that exact issue before. you need to have the shop that did the work fix the wiring. they must have overlooked something or pinched something in the damage area when they repaired it.
Just an update in case anyone else runs into this kind of problem.
Took the TL into the shop and after two days, they figured out that a part got painted that shouldn't have. When they reassembled everything, the paint kept the whole circuit from grounding properly. Go figure.
