Exclamation Need opinions on upcoming brake purchase!!!

Here are my choices for my new rotors and pads. Keep in mind I did not want to get the top of the line stuff, hawk, etc.

My car is a 2003 Acura TL Type-S with 46,500 miles and I am replacing the original brakes.

I need to know if this is a good match! Please let me know asap, I need my brakes done immediatly and I have to order today.

Centric Premium Black Brake Rotors: Front and Rear

Akebono Brake Pad set: Front and Rear

The total comes out to $345.00 with overnight shipping.

If this is a good pair, I will order right now, urgent opinions are needed. Thank you so much.

Never heard of Centric rotors.
Akebono - what model (I'm planning to put the pro-ceramics on my car and I've heard good things about them).

What are you trying to achieve? Low brake dust, increased stopping power?

I could care less about brake dust, I just want something very reliable with good stopping power, and since the dealer quoted me $610 to resurfance the rotors and install OEM pads, I figured why not upgrade all new rotors and better pads and have it done for cheaper.

Here is a link to the Centric rotors:

Where online did you buy the Rotora's and EBC Green pads from?

if you want to spend that kind of money i think there are "racingbrake" combo deals in that price range. mr heeltoe sells them in the sponsored sales section. some people rave about them. seem great.
im sure there will be some posts made to back this up, i can bet on it. ahhaha.

610 bucks! That's total . And that's without even getting new rotors, just having them resurfaced! If you want slightly above OE quality and not high performance I'd recommend Brembo blank rotors and either Satisfied Pro-Ceramics pads or EBC Ultimax pads. The Satisfied should wear longer if you bed them properly, but are slightly noisier cos' they're cermamic as opposed to semi-mettalic (OE pad materiel). However they stop better and have virtually no dust. I'm running the above set-up and like it very much. If you want performance go with Racing brake, Rotora, Hawk Pad, EBC-Greenstuff Pads, ect, ect.

I think I have decided on going with Rotora Slotted Rotors, and EBC Green Stuff Brake Pads. A friend of mine who is a good mechanic gave me a great deal on doing the labor so I can splurge a bit.

What does everyone think of this combo?

I slightly modified it to HAWK Hps pads, but my dilema now is finding a place to have it overnighted from because every single website I go to has it listed for overnight shipping, but when I call they tell me its only avaliable for ground because its a performance part.

Check out my new thread on the subject, and I would appreciate any help or insight on this. Thanks!
