last question my srs light keeps coming on after i reset it, i had the wife move around in the pass seat and the side air bag light comes on when she sits toward the pass door. is this a sensor or and easy fix?

sorry for the questions but you seem well informed! thanks a bunch
the side airbag light is SUPPOSED to come on when the passenger leans towards the door. It means the system is off for safety. As for the SRS light coming on, you need to read the code. It could be any number of things.

I figured it meant it was off for some reason. Is there a way to read the code? Or only honda can do this?

I was wondering why the light came on, but that makes sense since it only comes on when I have a passenger.

American, interesting choices being proivided...I've been reading up on the options as well to help when I do decide to do a tranny swap, as it seems "when" not "if" for TL's transmissions. Good luck on the findings and let us know what the decision is.

You really need to learn to use the Search button. It will save you a lot of time waiting for responses.

This is from half way down on this page

if you only plan on keeping it for 4 yrs it would be dumb to put a new motor in it. You'd never get your money back from doing that.

100 bucks is a pretty good price for what is shown.

Might as well change the radiator hoses as well. Peace of mind right?

GL with the plans man. fsttyms1 is one of the best voices to listen to regarding the 2g TL's. Honestly if your car is running fine now, let it continue to do so. If you end up keeping it a while consider a j35 or j37 internal replacement and type S top end swap, and you'll not only have a "new" engine but more tq, better high end hp and daily drivability. It's a win win.
