Question Need New HID

my left headlight went out...i'm pretty sure my ballast is bad. i would rather replace the HID's than deal with fixing the stock set up.
can u guys give me your opinions as to what is the nicest HID set up that fits in our headlights and goes for around $400-600.
thanks guys...really appreciate it. i would also like to thank all those that responded to my last thread trying to help me fix the problem.

If you are replacing your HIDS then you should upgrade to either 6000K or 8000K. I got my HIDS from Plasmasgarage.com and I am very happy with them.

so Dark Inspire, what would u suggest? What do u mean by less usable light output? i'm pretty new with this so bear with me. do u mean the beam is less focused or that it is more color rather than usable light the helps you see. I just guessing now. What k would u suggest, what brands, where to get them?
thanks

i think some where around 5000k is the most usable light. any thing higher than 800 is useless. halogens from an old truck would be brighter. i always hated seeing people on the roads with their 12k hids and going slow as hell cause they can't see any thing. i have 6k fogs and they rock.

I use the 8000K and they are def. not as bright as the stocks. The only good thing is people will notice that it is you from a distance because it is so blue.

after reading countless threads on this topic, it's unanimous 6000k is the optimum light temp. i'm a happy convert--just replaced oem bulbs w/ these bulbs. didn't realize what the big deal was until i installed them. what a difference! got mine from jus4bulbs@yahoo.com. several TLers got theirs from him. ask for the "VIP" deal and tell 'em ed sent you.

Ugh I guess I'm gonna have to do this here shortly. My right headlight seems to "flicker" when I'm driving. I noticed that about a month ago it was a bit more red than the other bulb. But I havn't noticed that color recently. Do you guys think its the bulb, or perhaps a loose connection somewhere? If its the bulb I'll just suck it up and buy 6000Ks for the car.

Lightbulb

how do you know that the ballast is bad? you might want to swap out the bulbs with the other side bulb to make sure, it could just be a bad bulb. Also I noticed a TL ballast and bulb set on ebay going for cheap.
