Need information about an engine swap

What engines can I put in my 2002 Acura 3.2 TL with no problems with the engine mounts and the other drop in with no problems looking at Japanese motors on a website but they're all made for Hondas and Acura CL what's the difference between A CL and TL and would one of those Motors be able to bolt down into my frame wanting to get information before I buy a motor and won't be able to drop-in without modifying the frame and engine mounts

Just call a around a few junkyards, mainly ones in the city. Most rural yards don't really have our cars (at least from what I've found). But it's not hard to find. Any J series Honda motor will bolt down but you want a J32a1.

You can drop in a J35A3 without any mods.

Wrong. Not any will bolt in. For the 2nd gen TL you can only put in a J32A1, J32A2 or J35A3. Anything after those and they have the cast exhaust manifolds and changed bell housing.

Two of the more popular options were mentioned, do some research through the forum.

Alot of engine swaps/builds have been done, and the options are pretty varied to get some great results.

J32 + auto tranny
J32 + 6spd
J33(built engine)
J35 + auto tranny
J35 + 6spd
J36(built engine)
J37(built engine)

Anyone of them can be done with an auto or 6spd trans. Depends on what type of setup you want and want you are hoping to do with the engine.

Some are boost friendly, some are not. There is a ton of info on here, v6performance.net, j32a.com.

Best would be to custom build a J37 from a J35a3 or J32A2 block if you are looking for power. Best trans is the AV6 auto or the 6speed CL-S manual trans.

Would you be able to swap in a Type-S motor into a base?

Wouldn't you need to keep the Type-S Harness and all?

You wont get the full advantage of the TL-S engine higher redline and tune.
But he will be able to use any engine to use the car anyway.

You can swap it in, there is nothing different motor wise that would keep it from bolting up. In order to take full advantage of it though you would want to get the ECU though.
