looking to upgrade car audio.... JL 10w7 sub and 500.1 JL amp...........
where can I get the hook up cuz that stuffs is expensive?!

get a 10inch mtx 9500
lasts longer, alot cheaper
and as far as the amp goesthey sell this class d amp (mtx)
that will power the 9500 to teh fullest without overpowering it
mtx vs. jl vs. alpine vs. kicker
they did a contest seeing what sub can last the longest
with over powering just a lil bit mabye by 100 watts over powering.
alpine lasted 3 seconds at full power at the loudest crank
then came jl with a wopping 5 seconds while kicker lasted almost as long as mtx at 10 seconds. mtx was still pounding. i have 2 mtx 12inch 8000's in a mtx sledgehammer box (2 sided vented) with the class d amp and i am very happy with my setup. Also have ppi interiors amped to a 404 mtx amp.
jl audio you pay for the name mosstly mtx has a better warrenty and i personally think hits louder and quicker, jl hits deeper but not as hard as you would want the back massage from all the bass being kicked into you.

all the MTX equipment is like a hundred bux cheaper than the JL. BUt I do personally like the way the W7 hits. Granted I've never heard the mtx9500 10in. Would the 801D amp be too much power if I went the mtx route? 4 or 2 ohms?
