Rubbing! Need help trimming fender
Hey,
My back tire on the driver side is rubbing and from reading this site I see a lot of ppl have trim the bumper fender. Can someone post pic and instruction. I don't know exactly where to cut and what equipment to use.
Once I fix the rubbing issue, I'm going to get HR OE springs. I got a quote for $150 installed. Is that a good price? How do I check to make sure the springs are HR?
Thanks!

Get a rotary tool. The protruding rubber is from the rear bumper. Follow the line of the rear bumper and you'll see the piece of rubber that is sticking out. Cut that off and you won't have any problems with rubbing.

before you start trimming, what type of wheel/tire package do you have. the size of tire, size of wheel and the offset are all important. if you are rubbing now, installing springs could make the problem worse.
$150 installed? that's cheap! they are $169 here at acp. you could shoot an email to tim or ask tire rack for the p/n's to verify they are the correct springs. be careful here, i hope it is not to good to be true.

Yeah, $150 for the springs and installation is too good to be true. I bought a set of H&R Sport for $125 and I thought I got a great deal. But installation would run me an additional $150. So you're practically getting everything at half price.

Just got done trimming. Went for a ride around the block and from what I can tell it is not rubbing anymore but the real test is driving to work tomorrow.
My wheels and tires are Niche Bella 18" with Kumos 225/40 18. I don't know how to find the offset.
Below are pics of my car, before trimming and after trimming. I was thinking of getting the springs tomorrow but will hold off until I hear from you guys.
Thanks

Well TL4Life, I did some research on the Niche site. The Bella is not listed in the appication guide for the TL (1996-2003). My guess is your offset is lower than 45. You also did not give info on the width of the rim which is also important. All this means you are going to have trouble if you lower the car at all. The offset should be listed on the inside of the wheel. Just remove one and it is stamped.
If you are close to Anaheim, stop by Wheel Warehouse and have them check out your ride. Ask for John Miller. If you like I can meet you there to check it out. PM me and I'll give you my # if interested. My 2cents is don't get the springs until you get this nailed down.

TopGum - I'm in Westminster so not far from Anaheim at all. That would be great if you can meet me there, a closer look at my car may give you a better idea of what I need. Email me at ryandao@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Went to Wheel Warehouse. They don't sell H&R Springs, only Eibach and those will be too low. He said I need to cut or roll the fender. My offset is around 40 he said.
Can someone post instruction.
Thanks
