I would recomend bringing them somewhere to have painted. Painting with a spray can will not yield good results and most likely the color wont match.

what kind of shape r they in?
if good, all you need to do is sand with 400 to 600 wet and paint over it. If there are ay chips in it they will have to be sansed and completly featherd out and filled in with primer

all you have to do is Wet sand them till they are uniformily dull (no shine-but dont sand so much as you sand thru the paint)
Then clean with soap and water (dawn dish soap) get a degreaser, wipe them down, and spray MANY light coats. Dont try to do it all in 1 coat.

yeaa if the paint is in goodshape you can paint over it..if not get yourself some paintstripper from k mart for 6 buks and it wil ltake the paint rite off. if your trying to paint with cans youll need about 2 cans of primer 4-5 cans of color and 4 cans of clear, that is if you want a good looking can paint job. ive done it before on my fender and it looked descent. apply how many coats of primer, get a nice coat of primer. when your done sand it. wash it. when applying hte color just do alot of light thin color coats untill its all even. i think after that depending on wat kidn of paint you have you sand again lightly, wash, hten apply clear the same way without sanding. thats all i know

As for painting, There is no need to sand the color before clear unless you have runs, or imperfections you want smoothed out. The clear after dried would be what you wetsanded with 1500 or so and polish to factory shine
