Question Need a good shop in OC CA

I went to South Coast Acura for detailing and an oil change and was told I need a brake fluid flush, power steering flush, fuel injection flush, major tune-up, replace front and right motor mount...all for 1.5K. I need to look for a local shop that will do everything for less. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

As for South Coast Acura I will never go there again. I made an appointment last Wed for detailing and oil change for Friday. I dropped-off the car at 8:30AM Fri., got a call from them 2:30 PM saying they will not be able to get to my car that day, I even offer to leave my car Saturday but they refused because they are already booked-up Saturday...just thought readers of the forum should know.

Thanks guys!

Thumbs up

Stay away from South Coast Service Department. They are jerks. Stupid advisors don't know jack, including the techs that want to play along with those stupid advisors and make themselves fools whether they are dumb or playing dumb.

Sorry, I don't know of a good shop to recommend.

HI
I know a good shop that I aways take my car there for service. Take 405 NORTH and exit on Horbor ave. keep going for about 8 miles, you pass macfadden and after half a mile on your right hand side there is a bif sign for TRANAUTO, go to that shopping center and the shop I am talking about is called AUTO BEST, is in the back
Hope that helps
Good luck

I have been taking my 03 TL-S to Tustin Acura. They are far better than ther other dealers I have experience with - South Coast or Weir Canyon Acura.

Cheers,
Mcdrew

I agree, Tustin Acura is a good one considering they only charged me $900 for the major maintenance (timing belt, etc.) whereas Cerritos Acura quoted me $1500.

I used to live off Harbor and if the shop ARA recommended is a Honda / Acura specialist, he was a pretty good mechanic. His garage was nothing pretty, but he seemed competent and was reasonable with his prices. Of course, I moved from OC in 2000, so my observations are worth less than the usual 2 cents. I must agree that South Coast Acura's service was not very helpful.

I was down in the OC last week and the place I was thinking about is "UR#1" Honda Acura repair shop. I didn't see the shop that ARA recommended, and am not sure if they are one and the same.

UR#1 is a good shop but it looks unsophisticated, unorganized, and dirty! Don't get me wrong, I had a good experience with this shop 6 years ago for maintenance my 90 Legend, but since it's long time ago, I don't know if the shop still good or not.

Tustin Acura is a good dealer compare to all other dealers around. The advisor is cool and fairly knowledge. If you leave your car overnight, ask them first and they will provide loaner car. If they have extra loaner car, you can might be able to have it even leaving car there in the morning and pick your car up after work.

Regarding South Coast Acura, I bought my Certified TL-S from them and I know what you mean regarding their service department.
Sorry, but I don't understand why you would take it to a dealer for a Detail or Oil Change. For an Oil Change try Jiffy Lube its quick, cheap and painless, I used to take my Vette there. For detailing go to a good detail shop.
