Need to find 12v power source in engine bay

I need to find a 12v power source in the engine bay. I'm wiring some fog lights and theres a red wire that needs to be placed onto a 12v power source. Any help would be great.

All 12V sources in the car ultimately come from the battery, so connect this "other one" at the battery also.

(unless of course, it's the black-colored cable... then you need to connect to that "other" post on the battery or any other piece of metal in the engine bay)

Jwskier187, if you can tell us what wires you have on your foglight and where you think they are suppose to connect to, we can help you better.

I dont see how it makes me a n00b if i connected one to the battery already and was wondering what to do with the other one...but anyways I have a new issue. There is a plastic thing that holds the wires and connects to another set and two fo the three ripped out of their places somehow. so i have to somehow get them back into it but it doesnt want to lol

I think we need pictures! In this case, a picture is worth a million words!

The plastic thing is probably the relay which is used to handle the high current going to the foglights. Normally, there are four wires connected to the relay.

For the two wires that connect to the make/break switch contacts inside the relay, one goes to battery +12V, and the other goes to the foglight bulbs.

For the remaining two wires that connect to the magnetic coil inside the relay, one goes to battery +12V, and the other goes to the on/off toggle switch usually located inside the car. Polarity is important for these two wires because you will hear a click inside the relay if the polarity is correct.

Also, the foglight metal housing and the other contact on the on/off toggle switch must be connected to ground.
