Need advice on slippin tranny

I noticed that when I was driving not in SS mode that the car shifts 1st to 2nd gear at around 2k rpms then from 2nd to 3rd the when it gets to 2rpm it doesn't shift instead it kinda jumps up to 3 rpms before it shifts and it shifts pretty rough when it actually engages 3rd gear. So I try puttng it in SS and when I shift into third gear it kinda keeps going for a second before I feel 3rd gear engage. I know my tranny is most likely fudged, and since many of you guys went through this do u think I should bring it to the dealer yet? Since I some of you guys say that they won't change the transmission til they find out its totally crapped out. I don't know if this would classify as crapped out. thanks in advance for any input

Sorry 2 hear that. I noticed the same problem on my 00 TL almost 2 months ago. I have not done anything yet though! I guess we both need 2 take our cars to dealer for diagnost. I think it all depends on the technisian so if he said it is ok just go try another dealer.

By the way; I am also in So. Cal. (IRVINE, Orange county)

Good luck and keep us updated!

I had the same symptoms, and took my car to the dealer soon after I noticed it. They diagnosed a bad tranny right away.

Yeah - it's probably time to visit the dealer. You don't want to wait until it gets worse.
